Who we are and what this policy covers
Auteli LLC is a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of New York, United States. We are an independent studio that designs, builds, and operates our own consumer apps. We are the “controller” or “business” responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy applies to:
- this website, autelillc.com, including its pages and the links on them;
- email and other correspondence with us, including messages sent to any address at autelillc.com;
- business relationships — vendors, service providers, partners, advisers, press and other professional contacts of the company.
It does not apply to our apps. Each app has its own privacy policy, linked from inside the app, from its App Store listing and from its own website. For Karmik, see karmik.help/privacy. If you email us about an app, this policy covers the email itself, and the app’s policy covers your account and in-app data.
Information we collect
- Website visits. autelillc.com is a static website. It has no account system, no forms, no comment features and no payment pages. We do not run analytics, advertising or social-media trackers on it, and it sets no cookies of our own. Our hosting provider processes the technical information needed to deliver and protect the site — your IP address, the time and address of each request, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent string — in its server logs for a limited period under its own policies. Selecting an email link opens your own email application; nothing reaches us until you send a message.
- Correspondence. When you write to us we receive your email address, your name if you include it, the content of your message, any attachments, and our replies. We keep this correspondence as a record of the exchange.
- Business contacts. For vendors, partners, advisers, press and other professional contacts: names, employers, roles, business contact details, the content of our communications, and the records needed for contracts, invoices, payments and accounting.
- Information you make public. We may read public reviews, posts or messages about our apps on the platforms where you publish them. That information remains governed by the policies of those platforms.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, government identification numbers, payment card numbers, passwords, health information or other sensitive details. If an app-related request requires us to verify your identity, we will tell you which minimal information we need.
How we use information
- to answer your questions, support requests and feedback;
- to run, secure and improve this website;
- to manage business relationships, perform contracts and keep the company’s books;
- to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- to protect the rights, safety and property of Auteli, our users and others.
Writing to us does not subscribe you to a mailing list. We do not send marketing email from this website, and we do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Legal bases (EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland). Where those laws apply, we rely on our legitimate interests (delivering and securing the website, replying to you, running the company), the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and — where we ask for it — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers who process information on our behalf and under our instructions: website hosting and content delivery (Netlify), our domain registrar and email-forwarding provider (Porkbun), the provider that hosts our mailbox, and the accounting, legal and productivity tools we use to run the company. Each is bound to use the information only to provide its service to us.
- Legal requirements. When we are required to by law, regulation, legal process or a government request, or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of Auteli, our users or others.
- Business transfers. If Auteli is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; the recipient will be bound by commitments at least as protective as this policy for the information it receives.
- At your direction, when you ask us to share something with a third party.
Third parties that receive information for their own purposes in connection with one of our apps — for example Apple for App Store purchases or OpenAI for AI features — are described in that app’s privacy policy, not here.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies of its own and loads no third-party analytics, advertising or social-media scripts. Fonts and images are served from this site rather than requested from third parties. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary mechanisms to deliver and protect the site, for example to serve a password-protected preview. Because nothing on this site tracks you, there is no tracking to opt out of; we also do not respond differently to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals here, since no sale or sharing takes place.
How long we keep information
- Hosting logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention rules; we do not copy them into our own systems.
- Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and, afterwards, as a record of the exchange for a reasonable period — longer where a dispute, legal claim or legal obligation requires it.
- Business records (contracts, invoices, payment and accounting records) are kept for the duration of the relationship and then for the periods required by tax, accounting and company law.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.
Security
This website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS with HSTS) and sends security headers that limit what the page can load. Our accounts with service providers are limited to the people who need them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please do not send passwords, verification codes, payment card numbers or other sensitive details by email.
Where information is processed
Auteli operates from the United States, and that is where we read and keep correspondence and business records. Our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, transfers to us and to our providers rely on the safeguards available under applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses or a provider’s participation in a recognized data-transfer framework. Availability of this website outside the United States does not mean that our apps are offered in your country; each app’s own policy says where it is available.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to receive a copy in a portable format, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw a consent you have given, and to complain to a data-protection or consumer-protection authority. Residents of California and several other U.S. states have rights to know, delete and correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; as described above, we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on this site.
To exercise a right, email contact@autelillc.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We will ask only for the information reasonably needed to verify that the request comes from you (or from an agent you have authorized) and will respond within the time required by applicable law — normally within 45 days. If we cannot fulfil a request in full, we will explain why and tell you how to ask for a review. We do not treat anyone differently for exercising their privacy rights.
Requests about an app account — for example deleting your Karmik account and its data — are handled under that app’s privacy policy and, where available, from inside the app itself (Karmik: Settings → Account → Delete Account). You can still write to us if you cannot use the in-app controls.
Children
This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under the higher age that applies in your country). Our apps have their own age requirements; Karmik’s first release is for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact contact@autelillc.com and we will delete it.
Links to other sites and services
This website links to our apps’ own websites, to the App Store, and to third parties such as the licensors of the photograph and font we use. Those sites and services have their own privacy policies, which govern your use of them; we do not control them and are not responsible for their practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the company and its practices change. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, say so prominently on this page. Changes to an app’s own privacy policy are announced in that app and on its website.
